The Polythene Pessary Ring may be used for a prolapsed uterus ('collapsed womb' or 'dropped womb'), whereby the uterus actually prolapses into the vagina. The Pessary may alleviate any pain or discomfort in these situations by acting as a support for the displaced uterus. Polythene pessaries are rigid in structure.
